Recent Deal: Backpack, Boy, Berlin by Critically Acclaimed Author Kip Wilson

BACKPACK, BOY, BERLIN, based on the true story of Don Heath, Jr., the 11-year-old boy who secretly carried information between his American diplomat father and anti-Nazi resistance group leader, Mildred Harnack, is the middle grade debut of author Kip Wilson. A Los Angeles Times Prize finalist, Wilson is the critically acclaimed author of YA novels WHITE ROSE, THE MOST DAZZLING GIRL IN BERLIN, and ONE LAST SHOT. Her forthcoming YA anthology in verse, ALL THE LOVE UNDER THE VAST SKY, is set to be published in 2024 with Nancy Paulsen Books, an imprint of Penguin Random House. She also holds a Ph.D. in German Literature and has been an Associate Editor at Voyage YA since 2020.

BACKPACK, BOY, BERLIN was sold for publication in Fall 2025, to Carter Hasegawa at Candlewick Press, in a pre-empt, by Roseanne Wells at Lucinda Literary (World English). Audio rights were sold at auction to Bethany Strout at Spotify Audiobooks (World English).
