Book Collaborator Interest Form

Lucinda Literary represents professional writers who collaborate with authors in various capacities, wherever they are in the process. Whether you need a ghostwriter, editor, or coach, our collaborators tailor their approach to your specific book writing needs. For nonfiction authors, our collaborators can help you to create your book proposal as well as a manuscript.

Investing in a book proposal is at an author’s will and investment. While working with a book collaborator will drastically increase your chances of getting notice or getting signed, and provide a solid roadmap no matter how you would like to publish your book, there is no affiliation or guarantee of either representation by our agency or others, nor a guarantee of a book deal should you choose to engage one of our collaborators.

Collaborators typically charge $7,500 and can range up to $25,000 for a book proposal, based on their credentials and track record in addition to the level of work required. For a nonfiction ghostwritten manuscript, their fees begin at $40,000 and range up to $120,000 based on experience and the level of work required. Payment plans are available.

If you would still like to get more information on collaborators who would be right for you, please fill out this form to help us better understand how we can help you!

Please note that we do not accept or review book queries nor book pitch solicitations via this form. If you are solely interested in seeking representation by our agency, please submit your query to us via our submissions portal.

FAQS

If I hire a book collaborator represented by Lucinda Literary, does that mean I am guaranteed an agent or a publishing deal?

Working with a book collaborator is at the author’s will and investment. We cannot guarantee that Lucinda Literary or any other agency will offer representation, or that a publisher will make an offer on your book.

However, investing in a collaborator can drastically improve your chances of getting noticed and signed by an industry gatekeeper. Many authors find that collaboration provides a solid roadmap no matter how you would like to publish your book.

I’d like to write my book, but outside editing would be helpful. Does a book collaborator do this?

Yes! Many of our collaborators offer editing packages.

I plan to potentially hybrid or self-publish. Am I still eligible to work with a Lucinda Literary writer?

Absolutely! Our collaborators have a broad range of experience that includes self-published projects.

Do collaborators ever work for free in exchange for a split of proceeds?

There are collaborators that work for free and receive a split of proceeds, but all of our collaborators work for an upfront fee. This allows you and the collaborator to focus on creating the highest quality work possible while maintaining your full creative control over the project.
