Charles Daly

Charles Daly , “Charlie,” is a ghostwriter and developmental editor working with memoirs and Business books.

Charlie is the co-author of I Will Follow You Anywhere: The True Story of the 9/11 Responders Who Took on Congress by John Feal with Charles Daly, foreword by Jon Stewart (Benbella Books, 2026). He is the ghostwriter behind Do What Works: the B2B Ads Handbook by Kevin Lord Barry, co-founder of RightPercent (fall, 2025), and The eCommerce Marketing Handbook by Privy.

He has worked on best-selling military memoirs: as the co-author of Make Peace or Die: A Life of Service, Leadership, and Nightmares (Featured on Jocko Podcast) and as a developmental editor of From Lawyer to Warrior and Civil: Life After the Foreign Legion.

He has written white papers, case studies, ebooks, and other long-form B2B marketing content for Roku, SalesForce, Privy, Palisis, and Thatch.ai. He prides himself on lean prose, tight sentences, and getting projects turned around quickly, producing a draft in as little as six weeks.

He lives in a cottage on the Atlantic coast of Ireland with his wife, a Swiss crime novelist, and their cat. He has also worked as an English teacher in Korea, a surf instructor, and a defamed Stop & Shop cashier. When he’s not writing, he’s exploring the coast in small boats or on call with his local Lifeboat crew.

“This is the kind of book I love—a true-life memoir of a man who lived (and is still living) a multi-dimensional life of war, love, family, and service … and who writes about it like a bandit.”

– Steven Pressfield, on Make Peace or Die

Praise for Do What Works: The B2B Ads Handbook by Kevin Lord Barry

(Ghostwritten by Charles Daly)

“I considered myself a Meta expert and pretty solid at Google. LinkedIn has always been my weak spot but you are literally telling me what to do, where to click, etc… it’s incredible. Within 10 pages I knew I was going to make this required reading for everyone on my team. Having just finished, I now have at least 10 new ideas I absolutely must test. The LinkedIn and creative sections will be hugely impactful to the program we run here.”

Molly McCarty, Growth Marketing Lead, NextDoor

“You can’t find this information with this context anywhere else. It’s so much more than the typical “quick ideas for existing campaigns” (though it has that too).  Kevin provides the important context of both the marketing landscape and buying journey,  and combines it with strategic and tactical recommendations for your marketing campaigns today and into the future. A must read for everyone in the space – from junior marketers to senior agency executives!”

Gordon Brott, Speaker and B2B Ads Director

“B2B advertising is easy . . . but hard to do well. Kevin Barry is a true expert on B2B ads and he is giving away master-level secrets in this book. Iterative testing, segmentation, CRM integration, complex conversion events – it’s all here. In the fiercely competitive world of B2B advertising, “good enough” no longer cuts it. If you want to truly win at B2B advertising, you need to read Kevin’s book pronto!”

David Rodnitzky, Founder of 3Q Digital

“This is the book I wish I had when I was starting out. There just aren’t many great resources on B2B advertising that cover the real-world nuances — but Kevin absolutely nails it here. It’s clear, tactical, and grounded in actual experience. We’ve made it required reading for everyone at 42 Agency.”
