Kiersten Saunders

Co-Author of Cashing Out (Penguin Group)

Kiersten Saunders is the co-creator of the award-winning personal finance blog, rich & REGULAR, alongside her husband, Julien. Their mission to reshape the financial conversation has been featured in The New York Times, Forbes, Glamour Magazine, CBS This Morning, and the documentary Playing with FIRE. Kiersten is widely recognized for her honest and informative perspective on mastering personal finance, specifically advocating for how the principles of Financial Independence, Retire Early (FIRE) can be adapted to resonate with more diverse audiences.

A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Kiersten spent the majority of her career in the retail and hospitality industries before turning her focus to financial advocacy. She openly shares hard-won lessons from her own past struggles with consumerism, credit card debt, and overspending to inspire other women. Her work emphasizes using money as a strategic tool to improve quality of life and gain the financial agency to speak one’s truth.

In June 2022, Kiersten and Julien co-authored their book, Cashing Out: Win the Wealth Game by Walking Away, published by Penguin Group. The book challenges traditional notions of the “grind” and provides a roadmap for readers to build wealth while reclaiming their time and autonomy.
