Lauren LaRusso is a psychotherapist specializing in extramarital affairs. She is committed to helping individuals and couples heal from the unexpected and inalterable impact of infidelity on their lives, with a focus on using the experience as a catalyst for compassionate and positive personal change, insight, understanding and growth.
Lauren’s Instagram account brings a much-needed voice to the largely unspoken, but widely experienced, impact of infidelity, with the goal of reducing silence, stigma, and shame. Lauren has been a contributing expert for Psychology Today, and also writes an infidelity and relationship based advice-column on Substack, “Letters to Lauren.” Lauren works with clients worldwide, and also offers courses to help guide and support all parties involved in affairs. Lauren holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Creative Writing from The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. She received her Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from The University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her book Beyond Betrayal: Transforming the Unexpected End of Your Relationship Into the Beginning of Your Life, was sold to Putnam, an imprint of Penguin Group, as well as Bloomsbury UK, in April 2024.
