Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Strategy Sessions, VIP Intensives, Assessments, and Mentorship?

Strategy Sessions offer preliminary orientation around what your book or pitch will need to be successful. We recommend a Strategy Session before proceeding to a VIP Day, Assessment, or Mentorship. These services, done sequentially, can drastically increase your chances of book success while providing regular access to top industry experts and book collaborators—allowing you to make progress while staying accountable. Contact [email protected] should you be interested in bulk or subscription pricing for purchasing a full package with us.

Do I need a finished manuscript or proposal to benefit from these services?

Not at all! Some writers come to us with an early concept, while others arrive with completed material and have already been querying agents. Our offerings are designed to meet you where you are and help you move forward with direction.

Who will I work with?

Depending on your project and goals, you will be matched with the expert most suited to your project. Our Academy liaison will be in touch to gather information and any specific requests you may have.

Can you help if I plan to self-publish or hybrid publish?

Unlike other ghostwriting firms, our experts bring Big Five experience and agent access, and typically work with those looking to traditionally publish. However, we are always open to valuable concepts and wonderful personalities, independent of the path you choose. Our focus is to create the best book possible with or for you.

Will I receive editorial feedback on my work?

Yes, though the depth of feedback varies by offering. Some services focus on coaching via Zoom, while others include extensive editorial review and written feedback. For larger editing partnerships, visit Collaborations.

Does participating in these services mean I will get literary representation?

Working with a consultant does not guarantee or imply representation by Lucinda Literary, any other literary agency, or a future publishing deal. However, our consultants substantially strengthen the elements that agents and publishers evaluate most critically: a commercial idea, concept clarity, market positioning, proposal quality, narrative structure, and overall execution.

How do I know which offering is right for me?

If you are unsure where to begin, we recommend sending an email to [email protected] so our team can help guide you toward the best fit for your goals, timeline, and stage of development.

What is your cancellation policy?

Because these offerings reserve dedicated preparation time and scheduling, all payments are non-refundable. We appreciate advance notice for any rescheduling requests whenever possible.
