How time flies. A year ago Get Signed was born, bringing writers I would never have the chance to meet, from all over the world, into my very office! (Via our zoom events).
It’s a blur, but some highlights I remember were:
-Shedding tears of gratitude and nerves with with my launch team, from beta readers to industry colleagues, the night before publication
-The “Book Wedding,” where over a hundred dear friends, authors and editors came to celebrate the moment
-And especially my first boss, who suggested becoming an agent in the first place
-Holding the book in my hands at local bookshops
-Reading the book aloud as I recorded the audiobook
-My daughters’ pride in bringing their book to show and tell
-My husband’s partnership as I focused on what mattered most
-The pride I felt in our team at Lucinda Literary, who became my book warriors
There is absolutely nothing like launching a book in the world. I appreciate my clients from the other side now. And for those aspiring to do so, it’s your turn next.
